 1) Eddie, eigentlich Albert Edwin Condon, amerikanischer Jazzmusiker (Gitarre, Banjo) und Bandleader, * Goodland (Indiana) 16. 11. 1904, ✝ New York 4. 8. 1973; spielte als Vertreter des traditionellen Jazz mit eigenen Gruppen (Chicagoans, 1927) und in anderen Bands (bei A. Shaw); veranstaltete seit 1939 Jamsessions und Jazzkonzerte.
 
 2) Edward Uhler, amerikanischer Physiker, * Alamogordo (New Mexico) 2. 3. 1902, ✝ Boulder (Colorado) 26. 3. 1974; Professor an der Princeton University (1928-37), an der Washington University in Saint Louis (1956-63) sowie in Boulder; 1945-51 Direktor des National Bureau of Standards; grundlegende Arbeiten zur Quantentheorie der Atom- und Molekülspektren, wobei er 1926 eine quantenmechanische Begründung und Präzisierung des Franck-Condon-Prinzips gab. Unabhängig von G. A. Gamow deutete er 1928 zusammen mit R. W. Gurney den Alphazerfall der schweren Atomkerne als quantenmechanischen Tunneleffekt.
